What Urgent Care Can Help With

  • Common Cold and Flu Symptoms
When you feel under the weather with symptoms like a runny nose, cough, or mild fever, urgent care can help. Our expert teams can provide relief and guide you in managing your symptoms.
  • Minor Injuries
Minor cuts, burns, sprains, and strains—urgent care teams are equipped to handle a range of injuries that require immediate attention without the need for a visit to the emergency room.
  • Infections
Suppose you are experiencing a mild infection like a minor skin infection or urinary tract infection. In that case, urgent care is prepared to diagnose, prescribe treatments, and get you on a path to recovery quicker.
  • Non-Severe Allergic Reactions
Providers in urgent care settings can help you identify and treat mild allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling, or other minor allergy symptoms. They’ll get you the appropriate care and advice for relief.

What to Expect at Urgent Care

When you arrive at the urgent care facility, our reception team will check if you have an online or walk-in appointment, help you register, and show you to the waiting area. Please check your MyChart account for confirmation if you made an appointment online.

We prioritize appointments based on urgency to help everyone get the care they need promptly.

When you are called back to the treatment area, a care provider will assess the nature of your visit, explain the recommended care options, and proceed accordingly with treatment. Our goal is to help you receive treatment quickly and efficiently.

Your UConn Health Team

Our board-certified emergency medicine, family practice physicians, and certified advanced nurse practitioners treat a range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention. We can help with conditions ranging from sinus infections and pneumonia to cuts that need stitches, breaks, sprains, and more.

X-ray and laboratory services are conveniently provided at the same location. Please note that UConn Health urgent care does not provide virtual, online care at this time.

Unparalleled Continuity of Care

UConn Health providers are the backbone of our urgent and emergency care settings, working seamlessly across both settings. With open communication between our providers, your medical history and needs are relayed promptly. You'll experience the same high-quality care throughout your journey, from the moment you step through our doors to the time you leave.
