Prior to starting your first day, there are several required tasks you will need to complete in order to be prepared.

Critical Retirement Deadline

By 4 p.m. on Day 1 of Orientation, you must confirm your retirement election. To do this:

  • Email the HR Employee Resource Center, hr-employeeresource@uchc.edu, a picture or scanned copy of your CO-931h (Retirement Election Form) or confirm you previously submitted election

No later than the following Tuesday, we must submit your original form to the State Comptrollers. It must be:

  • Delivered to Human Resources, 16 Munson Road, 5th Floor, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or placed in the HR locked dropbox outside the HR entrance.
  • Sent via U.S. Mail to: UConn Health Human Resources, PO Box 4035, Farmington CT 06034-4035, Attention: Talent Acquisition

Health Insurance

You have 31 days from your hire date to sign up for your benefits. Eligible employees receive an email to their personal email address they provided with enrollment instructions.

Your Identification Badge & Parking Permit

To ensure safety and security on our campus, all employees are required to wear a UConn Health identification badge. Additionally, all vehicles parked on campus must display a valid parking permit. Watch the Administrative Support Services video on how to obtain them:

 

Day 1 Orientation

At the start of Day 1, new employee orientation, be prepared to have your ID photo taken and submit your fully completed parking permit form. Make sure to bring your driver's license or other valid photo identification.

At the conclusion of the in-person Day 1 session:

  • Individuals exempt from Medical/Surgical 5 Training will receive their ID Badge and Parking Tag.
  • Individuals needing to complete Medical/Surgical 5 Training and attend Day 3 Clinical Operations Training will receive their Parking Pass. Your ID Badge will be provided during Day 3 training.
  • Providers who need to complete Medical/Surgical 5 Training will receive their Parking Tag and collect their ID Badge from the Administrative Support Services office anytime after Day 2 orientation.
