Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone Diseases

The UConn Health Center for Osteoporosis provides highly modernized bone mineral density testing and treatment for men and women with risk factors for osteoporosis, a progressive, debilitating, yet often silent condition. Our experts use the “gold standard" in evaluation tools like the Dual Energy X-ray Absorption (DXA) scan to measure bone density accurately and look for spine deformities. Individualized treatment plans are created for each patient to best fit their health and wellness needs. As an academic medical center, our physicians are involved in groundbreaking research on the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis.
